House of Wolves

Hello to everyone again. Sorry for not posting, I've been too busy (or rather, lazy) to post lately. Yes, I'm probably the world's biggest procrastinator. And no, there's nothing interesting that I want you guys to know to post about anyway.

In case you're pondering over my very odd choice of title, I have moved out of my current house as I am unable to afford the sky-high rent and have chosen to live in a den with a pack of wolves instead. [/badjoke] But seriously, my house is even noisier than a den full of wolves. Not a good thing when you're two weeks away from exams and haven't started revising yet. It's mainly due to a certain 12-year-old kid in the family. Sorry to say this, but I so hate kids right now. I wish time would speed up so it reaches June and I can (FINALLY!!) move out. On the bright side, my homestay family's going to Perth on holiday for a few days so I can have some rare moments of peace and quiet then. =)

But anyway, that wasn't why I posted this. This may be old news to some, but I'll be back in Singapore yet again come 10 Feb. To be precise, this will be the 3rd time I return to Singapore. I'd much rather come back and spend CNY with my family, in a Chinese-majority country than spend it with a few friends in Australia. There's just no festive mood in Australia, even though there are a lot (and I mean A LOT) of Chinese students there. I know you guys are still in school for the most part, but I hope to somehow see some of you and contact some others. Note that I'll have a handphone number while I'm in Singapore, email or ask me on MSN for it, since I'm not stupid enough to post it on the Web for any Tom, Dick and Harry to see.

In the meantime, I've got to get through my remaining lectures, attend some revision classes, start revising for exams (although you'll still see me on MSN very often) and hope to see you who are reading this when I'm back in Singapore =)

(P.S The first person to figure out the reference I made in the title gets a cookie. Hints may be provided on request. =P)

Starting School

Hi everyone, sorry for being inactive for the past one month. Initially, I thought I could post more messages in the holidays so I was quite happy that this blog was created during the school holidays. However, as I looked back, I realised that my whole holiday was all spent on CenTaD research Programme, chinese research essay, CCA matters and holiday assignments. All these work kept me busy throughout the holiday so I could hardly have any time to blog. Coupled with that, I am also prohibited to use my computer at home to blog due to the fact that I used computer too often. Therefore, I can only make use of the school IT facilities to blog now.

Anyway, for the December holiday especially during the last two weeks of holiday, I think quite a series of events happened. While the temperate countries were snowing, we were having raining season. It was raining almost everyday. I think there are a few consecutive week that the downpour was so heavy that some parts of Singapore flooded but it's still minor compared to that of Malaysia. I think quite a large area of Malaysia was completely immersed in water after all the heavy downpours. Following that, Taiwan had some earthquakes and resulted in some major internet connection problem and we could not log onto the internet. Initially, I heard the report that it will take 3 months for Taiwan to repair the underwater cables used for internet connection so I was quite worried then. Luckily, it was fully restored by the last few days before the school reopens, or else the consequence could really be dire.

Besides that, I think I'm also quite happy to receive some of your Christmas greeting card so I decided to send some too. I hope those of you who received it would like it. Nevertheless, I think it is a good idea that we can send each other regards on holiday seasons through e-card. It's fast, convenient and meaningful. After all, it's great to know that there are people out there who still cares for you.

Anyway, the school has started again and term one week one is over now. Time really flies. Soon, it will be the time for me to put all my focus on academics and prepare for the tests in the year ahead. By the way, I had also been accepted into the NUS H3 Physics module so it will be an even busier year for me. What's even worse, the examination for that subject falls on late April and I'm only starting the course on Jan. It will really be a tough battle for me to adapt quickly to the rigour of the course and excel in it while at the same time, coping well with my other subjects and CCA activities. But it will be a fulfilling one if I can succeed in doing so.

However, in view of the increasing time and energy I am going to devote to my academics and CCA activities, I have to apologise first if I'm not able to post anything in the near future. But I promise that I will do my best to contribute to this blog to keep it going.

Towards the end, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all those taking A level good luck and hope that all of you can excel in it. Do put in your utmost effort in this and you will find it rewarding in the end. Even if you did not excel eventually, you will be greatly comforted that you have done your best and you will never come to regret it later. For those who have not done well last year, I think it will not be too late to work hard now since it's just the beginning of the year. With determination and diligence, I believe all of us can perform well.

As for the others who are in the midst of studying university and polytechnic, I also sincerely wish you all the best in whatever you are doing. Good luck everyone.
